TEMPLAR - ANTIQUED EUROPEAN OAK FLOORING RANGE. (16mm)

The patina that takes nature 400 years to achieve we can achieve in a fortnight

A feature of our aged ranges is that they are so easy to live with. Dents and scratches of normal wear and tear only add to the beauty. No longer do you need to worry about that first blemish in your newly laid smooth floor.

'Distressed' by a patented method, the oak is coloured by 'manipulation' and the final application of a clear or coloured, reinforced hard wax oil. Distressing, or ageing, introduces random surface damage to the planks by a patented method of striking them with pieces of metal. Manipulation is the altering of the natural colour of the top millimetre or two of the oak by changing the nature of the tannic acid which occurs naturally in European oak; this change is brought about by exposure of the wood to a variety of chemicals. The colour is then brought out of the wood by the addition of the hard wax oil finish. Meaning that any observable blemishes that occur during use of the floor are easily and fully restorable with a green scrub sponge dipped in maintenance oil.

Our range of aged flooring is available in both solid and engineered forms and in a range of styles as well as plank. Offered in a selection of 8 colours, it is possible for us to produce a wide range of additional shades to suit particular needs.
